You are looking for a venue that fits the theme of your event? Or you simply want your event incur as little damage to the environment as possible?

To us, green meetings and environmental- and climate protection are more than just fashionable labels: these have in fact been underlying principles of our business philosophy and management since our foundation in 2000. The foundation stones of our environmental concept are:

“Climate neutral” Events

Since 2009 our clients have been able to individually determine the CO2 consumption of their event with our venue-specific CO2 calculator. In cooperation with Climate Partner we offer the sale of certificates for selected climate protection projects – such as biomass or wind energy in India – in exchange for the accumulated emissions.

Environmentally friendly building (technology)

The Umweltforum Auferstehungskirche, our original company building, was renovated between 2000 and 2001 according to environmental standards and rebuilt with modern environmental technology such as a combined heat and power unit (CHP), a condensing gas boiler, photovoltaic units, as well as a solar facade. Our second venue, the Jerusalem Church, has been gradually brought up to modern energy saving standards with thermal insulation, double-glazed insulated windows, new heating technology, photovoltaic units and rooftop greenery.

An agreeable indoor climate

Loam walls and wall and floor heating systems in the Umweltforum Auferstehungskirche provide a most agreeable indoor climate while the rooftop greenery contributes to better quality city air.

Electricity from renewables

In all of our venues the electrical supply is completely derived from renewable sources and of course we always use energy-saving light globes.

Catering with organic products

All of our drinks are organic, and our coffee and tea are also from fair-trade products. Cake, fruit and biscuits for our coffee breaks, as well as all of our main meals, are also available in all-organic form from our catering partners.

Reusable packaging and crockery

The crockery used for our events is reusable, as are our drink vessels. Our mineral water comes from the local Brandenburg region. For our events we always separate our rubbish for recycling.

Environmental and climate protection in the company

We also consider environmental quality important within our company. That's why, in 2005, we took part in the ÖKOPROFIT project, carried out an environmental check, and developed a company environmental program. Part of this means that we make sure all of the products we use are environmentally friendly and that the majority of our workers use public transport or bikes. Our corporate management is made carbon neutral since 2008 and currently we are working on the validation by EMAS, the european Eco-Management and Audit Scheme.
